This Website is
the product of a
Davis Honors Challenge section of
American Studies 30 (Spring Quarter, 2007). The class,
entitled “Images of America and Americans in Popular
Culture,” explored the relationship between images and
ideology, between social structure and representation.
As their
inspiration, the DHC students took Chicago Public Radio’s
award-winning program,
This American Life. The students of
the DHC section looked and listened at their own community
and crafted, wrote, recorded, and edited the stories on
this website.
